Long-distance move from North Carolina to California

Disaster Pick-up.

After spending 8 years in the military - moving every few years, this was my first 'civilian' experience with a moving company.  I had high hopes for White Glove after reading the reviews, but my overall experience was the worst move I have had in the last 10 years.
I had been working with Casper - the company was on time w/ pick-up and delivery, but when the crew showed up to pack my goods they had two temps from the local area, 1 of whom had never packed goods before.  The crew was a disaster both in complete laziness as well as in incompetence.  We had a lot of goods so I wasn't able to monitor every item, but they ended up packing one of our mirrors in cloth only - no cardboard.  At delivery, 2 of the 4 mirror we had were completely broken.  The foreman seemed to have no control of the crew, and they didn't start moving until the rain came in.

Finally, at the end of a long day of packing, the driver went over the paperwork with me.  He instructed me to sign the Insurance Option 2 (limited replacement value) and told me full replacement value wasn't an option.  I protested, but he insisted.  After a long day of dealing with the crew, I signed.

I initially had a positive experience with the claims process, but they offered to pay me $200 only if I agreed not to post any internet reviews, etc.  I declined in the hopes of passing along my experience to others.
We had a great experience with the delivery, but based on the actions of this pack-out crew, I would not use or recommend White Glove.

If you are considering White Glove, be sure to ask about the pack-out crew and please sign option 1 for your protection.

Official company response

Michael,

I am sorry to hear that you felt like we did such a bad job on your move. With that being said some issues need to be clarified. When the move was scheduled there was an original pickup window with a crew reservation. We were then informed that the date had to be sooner than the original reservation therefore we scrambled to get a crew together. My foreman who did the pickup has been with me for 13 years and laziness is not an attribute he possess's. The fact of the matter is you had over 75 more boxes than listed on your inventory as well as over 16 additional pieces of furniture. Due to the last minute nature of the changes we were unable to send you more men than your original 3 man crew and hired local help for loading purposes. I imagine that was my mistake but as per our conversation you just wanted it to be completed as fast as possible. For the record we did not charge you for the additional labor. Furthermore in regards to insurance. You wanted to purchase an insurance policy from Baker International. Baker International requires a minimum of 48 hours notice my foreman was just notifying you that on move day you cannot purchase insurance from Baker International, that is simply their company policy. We called Baker on your behalf and you were denied coverage again due to the short notice. My foreman again was just passing along information that was given to him, if it came across as coercion I ask on his behalf for forgiveness.

On a brighter note I am glad my crew who delivered you did a good job, They were prepared for the magnitude of your shipment and they were thrilled about the nice tip(thank you for treating them so well). Most importantly Michael you were an absolute gentleman the entire time and I wish you and your family all the best in California

Respectfully Yours,

Casper Rose.

Long-distance move from Far Hills, NJ to Silverthorne, CO

Very happy with White Glove Moving.

This was our first long distance move so we were nervous about the process, especially after reading numerous negative reviews for other moving companies. The overwhelming positive reviews for White Glove Moving sealed our decision to select White Glove after receiving quotes from several other national moving companies.

From start to finish White Glove exceeded our expectations on our cross country move. Andrew, our salesperson and estimator, could not have been nicer. He answered all our questions, responded to all of our calls promptly, and his estimate turned out to be perfect.

The loading crew was extremely professional. Upon arrival each member of the team introduced themselves. It was clear they had pride in their company and understood how stressful a household move can be for a family. We could not believe how much time they took and how well they wrapped and protected all of our household items. Because of this we were very confident our household would arrive intact and it did! Each item and box was clearly listed on an inventory sheet for tracking.

At the destination, the moving van arrived with a driver and assistant. Additional help was supposed to meet them, however there was a mix-up and the other help did not arrive. The driver and assistant unloaded the entire household. As each item was unloaded, the driver had me check off the item on the inventory sheet that was prepared at loading to make sure each and every item and box arrived as planned. There was no damage to any of our household and all items arrived as anticipated.

Even though it took over 10 hours, the movers went about their business and they could not have been nicer. Even after the last items were moved into the house in the dark at 10:00 PM, they were not in a rush to leave. They diligently finished assembling several furniture items, and asked if there was anything I wanted to them to move to a different location or rearrange.

The price we paid matched the original estimate exactly. We even received a 3% discount on the entire move for paying cash.

Overall we could not have been happier. White Glove moving made a stressful and nerve racking process easy for us. We are happy to give White Glove Moving 5 stars and double thumbs up. We would recommend White Glove to anyone considering a move.

Long-distance move from California to Ohio

Poor Management / Overall Disappointing.

BAIT AND SWITCH!!  MOVE ON TO A BETTER COMPANY!!  There is no glowing testimonial here. Frank, who is one of the owners, comes across as being personable over the phone. Don't be fooled. Once the company has your deposit, it is all DOWNHILL and DIRTY.  White Glove offers POOR COMMUNICATION that LACKS in MANAGEMENT which translates into POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.  The company does not follow through with what is stated in the agreement and DOES NOT keep you updated when your move goes BAD. I moved from Los Angeles to Ohio.  My items were picked up on Nov 14th and the delivery was scheduled on Nov 20th.  My items DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL DEC 13th.  I was told by the driver, Steven, my items would go directly from his 18 wheeler to Ohio.  At NO TIME PRIOR TO MY MOVE from LA, DID ANYONE from White Glove tell me that my items would be dropped off and REMAIN in a storage unit in LA for several weeks. I purchased the PLATINUM PKG..  NOT WORTH IT.  Packing is poorly done and I am not surprised several items were DAMAGED and LOST/ STOLEN.  Clothes were not hung in wardrobe boxes.  Just like past reviews, my clothes were folded around the hangers and wrinkled beyond wear.  Antique items were damaged- literally a chunk of wood broken off of my Louis XV french armoire.  The delivery truck showed up today WITHOUT THE COMPANY NAME White Glove for you could see Toyota..  very suspicious.  Movers did not wear company shirts.  Appearance was unprofessional. The COST of the move was MORE THAN AGREEMENT.  THERE WAS NO ITEMIZATION OF INVENTORY EVER PROVIDED.  Several requests were made for information.  I felt my ITEMS WERE HELD HOSTAGE. Kelly from customer service stated she would get back to me regarding the issue but she never did.  The company is POORLY MANAGED. My move was similar to many other customers who have recently shared their experience (Check YELP reviews!) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND for you TO STAY AWAY..  YOUR $$ CAN BE SPENT ELSEWHERE.  My complaint is being made with the Better Business Bureau.  It is unfortunate that my outcome was such a DISAPPOINTMENT.  However, I hope this review helps someone in making a better informed decision.   Thanks for reading.

Official company response

Dear Jill,

It is unfortunate that you did not have a pleasant experience with White Glove like so many of our satisfied customers. Regarding the communication issues that you had, our company was experiencing difficulties related to Hurricane Sandy that prevented us from being in constant communication with our customers. Regarding the execution of your move, we realize we could have done a better job and we have corrected the problems that were associated with your move. Our customer care department made efforts to rectify the situation but was unable to reach an agreement with you. While we feel your review does not accurately portray your experience with White Glove, we do want to wish you the best of luck in your new home and we appreciate your feedback.

Long-distance move from North Carolina to Texas

Horrible cross country move.

Be careful with this mover. This is a broker service. The initial representative, Casper, took my inventory for the quote but did not list all the items on the bill of laden. When the movers arrived two days after their guaranteed pickup window, they refused to move anything that was not on the list. They had to call their management to get permission to load the additional items which should have been on the list. They finished the packing the next day. It took the two movers two days to pack my 1100 Sq ft townhouse. All they had to pack was the furniture. All but 5-8 boxes had already been packed. I purchased the silver package so that they would pack my electronics, lamps, and pictures. After all my goods were loaded they told me that it would cost an additional $319 dollars. I wasn't in a position to argue at that point. But, I was told that I could get 3% off if I paid with cash, cashier's check, or money order. It was also at this point that I learned that my goods would be moved to a warehouse and would be unloaded and placed into storage. Then when a truck was available they would be reloaded and shipped to my final destination.
Over the next two weeks I called several times to get the total volume of my goods or a weight. I was first passed around to various offices. Then I was guaranteed that I would be given a complete list when my goods arrived.
White gloves guarantees delivery within 14 business days. They don't guarantee to deliver on a business day though. It took 12 business days and 2 1/2 weekends for my goods to be delivered. When my goods arrived they were in terrible condition. Boxes looked like they had been wet. There were large holes in boxes. My desk was chipped all around the edge with large deep scrapes across the surface. I had two lamps and a wall mirror broken, a standing fan snapped in two, the top ripped off my cat tree, the back broken off on my weigh bench, all of which the movers packed. They also broke all my mugs and wine glasses. My desk top computer, also which they packed, was hanging out of a box that looked like it had been ran over by a truck with a gaping hole in the side. My bed was missing components. The movers tried to put it together with some lag screws. But, it fell to pieces two days later in the night. The delivery movers were very apologetic and said that I must have had a horrible crew. They did not have my total volume of goods either and told me that I could contact the office to get it. I contacted the office four times over the following week before I could get a copy of my bill.
Once I had my bill, I tried calling the company to collect on the $0.60 per lb insurance policy. The movers had signed my inventory for the damaged goods verifying the damage. I listed the items broken to the customer service representative. She said that I had too many damaged items. Usually, they would have done a settlement on the phone. However, I have to take pictures of all the damage and print copies of them to be mailed, they don't accept email copies, to the company. I have to keep all the broken items, make sure not to repair anything (they want me to sleep on floor), and keep all the packaging material. She could not give me a time frame for when the claim could be completed. She said that she would email me the information later in the day. But, I never received it.
I would not recommend this company. I would strongly recommend that you avoid this company and look elsewhere.

Official company response

Bill,

There are parts of your review that are true and there are parts of your review that are false. First we are not a broker service, and I was the one that personally took your inventory list. I emailed this list to you and you signed off on the list agreeing that it was final. We also made multiple amendments to this list prior to your move. I am more than happy to fax/email these documents to you. If these additional items should have been on your list all you had to do was simply call/email me and I would have added them as we do on more than one occasion. Regarding the pickup we arrived within you pickup window, I am not exactly sure why you claim we were late, please call me to go over this. We also did provide you 3% off your entire move, in your review it leads one to believe that we did not, but we did discount you upon delivery.

Prior to scheduling any Long Distance move I review with the client there delivery window. You were very aware of the benefits and limitations of this window PRIOR to scheduling. I do this so one can budget both there money and time.

Regarding the damages, I am incredibly sorry for the damages expierenced and for this we are responsible. I will contact my V.I.P. Customer Care Department immediately. We pride ourselves on not letting any customer fall through the cracks and I will go out of my way to make sure your claim is filed in a timely fashion. You are always welcome to call me for any advice or guidance.

P.S. Sir nobody wants you to sleep on the floor. I can assure you of that.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to North Carolina

Would never recommend.

I contacted White Glove for my move from NJ to NC. Initial price was good. The salesman Rick spent about 1 hr going over the items to be moved. He failed to include the headboard and footboard for the bed and we were charged extra on moving day. He also failed to explain the way they handle the move. We did not know until when the movers arrived that our belongings were loaded at our home and then unloaded at a warehouse. It would then be loaded again to a 50 foot tractor trailer to be delivered to NC. Since a truck that large would not fit down the streets in our development the trailer would be unloaded and reloaded to a smaller truck at an additional charge of course. We also were never told that the quoted price was for cash only and that if we wanted to use a credit card it was an additional 3%. Overall the men who loaded the truck in NJ and unloaded in NC did a fine job. What bothered me was the salesmanship when we were given the quote. So instead of paying $2300 the move ended up costing us just below $3000.
I would definitely not recommend White Glove Movers and have told my realtor to stop recommending them too.

Service cost: $2900

Official company response

Mr. Kilar,

I am sorry that you did not have a stellar move, but according to this it seems like you were not clear on a couple of items. First we do not charge 3% more if someone wants to use a credit card. What we told you and it is also reflected in the paper work is your quote would be 3% LESS if you paid by certified check/bank check. The $2700 would be reduced $81 if payment was in certified check/bank check. Regarding the additional $250.00, we made an attempt to deliver in our long distance truck but as we both now know there is no access. Thus we had to rent a smaller truck, transfer the shipment and deliver accordingly. All of this is written in your paperwork but it IS the salespersons responsibilty to inform the client of potential extra charges. After speaking with you I wholeheartedly believe you were not informed. I am sorry, myself and the saleperson had a very serious conversation regarding clarity and disclosure. On a positive note I heard at delivery everything went very well and there were no damages. In closing I wish you and your family good luck in your new home and if there is anything I can do please do call.

Best Regards,

Casper Rose.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Georgia

Unsatisfactory - customer service.

We had a very large move from N.J. to the Atlanta area.  The 2nd truck was delayed 2 days, not such a big issue.  The packers and the delivery guys were a great bunch and tried to do any thing they could to make the move a easier for me.  The issue came with the 2nd truck.  The men wanted to get the delivery over with as soon as they could.  I did tell them to put some of the items in the garage.  So they just put them on top of each other and a lot of the boxes were crushed and items were damaged. They were not helpful nor willing to go the extra mile for the customer.  Here is the big problem.  I called the main office and spoke to them that I took pictures of the all the broken items and the piles of my belongings in my garage.  They said they would get back to me.  I called 5 more times and no one has ever gotten back to me.  I have 3 friends that are not using them because of this.  If I would have gotten a call back I think my review might have been different.   Please call your customers back and you will not get 2 stars. A.G.

White Glove Movers.

We chose White Glove over 4 other national movers because they claimed to be endorsed by Prudential..we later discovered that they were not. The move was from a 7200 sq. ft. house in NJ to northern California. We were surprised that their packing time was 3 days with every other mover requiring 5 or more. The moving supervisor bragged about how they were the fastest in the business.  I didn't know it then, but as we started to unload the track we realized that we made a big mistake in choosing this mover. The boxes emerged from the truck dented, crushed, and bits of their contents sticking out of the box.  There was almost no packing material used.  My office computer, printer, external drives, keyboard, mouse, and  speakers were in 1 large box with absolutely no packing of any kind.  Not even packing paper.  Of course most of it was damaged or now inoperable. In another box we discovered 30 pairs of dress shoes an another large box ALSO without any packing at all.  It was nothing butust 60 shoes thrown into a box. We were moving our $7,000 chandelier Italian alabaster chandelier and paid the extra charge to have it crated.  They build a lever crate where the chandelier actually hung from the re-enforced top of the crate.  Unfortunately they neglected to put arrows on the crate showing "this end up".  As a result, the crate was "rolled, end over end from the truck to the house. When the movers were finally done unloading we realized that 65 boxes were un-accounted for.  In addition to all of this damage, they had lost 10% of our boxes with our belongings in them.  It was a total disaster.  Please avoid them Luckily we took the insurance for $2000.  They corroborated that we had over$12,000 in substantiated damages and sent us a check.  Unfortunately, at least once a week one of us will say something like, "have you seen the boxes of grandma's dishes?" and realize that we will never see them again since they were in the 10% of missing boxes. The overall comment we found ourselves repeating is that White Glove made no distinction between packing a crystal statue or brick..in fact they packed them together ( or things just as dissimilar in weight and fragility).

Dishonest.

White Glove picked up my belongings on 10/29 in excellent condition. They delivered them to me a month later wet, moldy and broken. They never told me I had damage to my items and just delivered them to get the delivery fee. I got a phone call saying their warehouse had suffered damage during Sandy, but my things were in an area of minimal damage and they said I should get them delivered. When I asked to see my belongings before delivery, I was told no, that the only way to access my items was to take delivery or wait months during which time damage in their warehouse might occur. I even asked to be there when they loaded the truck and was told no. Instead they just charged me to deliver garbage without even a warning! And on top of that, they said it was an Act of God, so they and their insurance have NO liability!! Do not use this disreputable company!!

Service cost: $1851

Official company response

Dear Kathryn,

Thank you for your feedback regarding your relocation with White Glove. As you stated, your items were picked up on 10/29. That night, Hurricane Sandy caused an unanticipated and unprecedented amount of damage to the entire Greater New York City area that much of the area is still recovering from. It is unfortunate that you are leaving us a negative review based on Hurricane Sandy, but we do wish you the best of luck in your new home and appreciate your feedback nonetheless.

Avoid this company if you care about your valuables.

Choosing White Glove Moving for a cross-country move was the BIGGEST MISTAKE I have ever made. Save yourself a lot of heartache and financial distress and simply spend the money upfront on a quality moving company (that being said, any other mover would do). I refused to sign a claim offer of a measly ~$300 for my ~$7,000 of items in order to write this review, as the claim form legally prevents one from filing service-related complaints. Here is my moving experience highlight reel: - Lost 20% of my boxes valued at ~$7,000, one of which was the largest box I had - Forced to notify mover that they brought other people’s boxes into my apartment - Long distance driver was entirely unorganized and brought me into his truck to help look for my boxes (Good thing I am not a thief!) - Nonexistent communication within the company - Management was unaware my boxes were even missing - One way street - Whiteglove rarely, if ever, returned any of our repeated calls or messages - Whiteglove employees are incompetent across the board - drivers, customer service and directors are no exception - Zero accountability - Eventually dealt directly with a White Glove Executive Director who quickly pawned me off to yet another employee - Never got a truly honest apology - Was encouraged to quickly file a claim - Possible locations of my box according to Whiteglove - in other customer’s hands, overseas, or hidden in the New Jersey warehouse - Pressured Whiteglove to put any real effort into finding the boxes - Experienced horrible record keeping and knowledge-share among employees regarding customer files (not sure they really exist, maybe on napkins?) - Granted access to their “VIP Customer Care Department” line. If the kind of treatment I received on that line was “VIP”, I would love to know how they treat regular customers service calls Best luck on your move! UPDATE: I called White Glove to tell them I was declining the claim offer. They increased the offer a bit, but it still wasn’t anywhere close. I was asked what I was looking for, and I told them “at least $xyza” as I didn’t have time to think and choose a set amount, to which the employee replied that I should hear back in a few minutes. I was under the impression she was just feeling me out to see if coming up to around this amount was even possible. Just before the end of their business day I got a call back with a new offer. The White Glove employee went on the offensive and began attacking me once I suggested what I considered to be a reasonable offer (I came up with a fixed amount after having some time to think about it) considering I did not get what I paid for, which is for ALL my belongings to end up at the final destination. She said “we agreed on a number originally, but then you turned it down”. Nonsense. I was offered the “maximum” amount originally and was not aware of all the legal jargon prohibiting me from reviewing the company - I never agreed to that. She then suggested I was lying about the box contents, told me I was “vindictive”, that I would receive “bad karma”, and that if I posted a review she would reply with “all my personal information” including my signed confidential contract. As far as I’m concerned, I am expecting good karma if I prevent even one person from using this terribly unprofessional company. I credit them for increasing the offer, but it is grossly unprofessional and disgraceful to start launching personal attacks at a customer.

Official company response

Dear Mr. Crews,
The review you have posted regarding your experience with White Glove contains statements that have compelled us to respond. You are correct that you were offered not one, but two settlements from our company. The first settlement offer was for the MAXIMUM amount allowed by your contract, since you did not purchase full value protection through us or 3rd party insurance. Your coverage was $0.60 lb/article. You then informed us that you wanted ~$700 to reach a settlement. As an act of good faith, we called you back to inform you that we would agree to your demands, at which point you then notified us that you now wanted DOUBLE your demand ($1500) or you were going to go to every review site possible and leave us a negative review (which you have now done). We make strides to treat every customer fairly, but refuse to be extorted. We appreciate your feedback, but it is very far from an accurate representation of your dealings with our company. We wish you the best of luck in your new home in California.

Long-distance move from Georgia to Florida

White Glove Moving - Review.

For our move from GA to FL, our experience with White Glove was nothing like the positive reviews I read.  In summary, we went with White Glove because they were $400 cheaper than Arnoff Movers, who moved us twice over the past 2 years, and did a stellar job.  Next time we move we will go back to Arnoff, knowing that you get what you pay for, and the few hundred dollars we saved were NOT worth the stress that White Glove put us through. To share some highlights:

*We were told verbally that our delivery time in FL should be quick, since it was only a state away and they were trying hard to “get their trucks back to FL”.  Our requested delivery date was 8/14.   Every phone conversation we had prior to pick up, they verbally committed to 8/14 as a delivery date.  They even asked at one point if we could take delivery sooner!  This was another reason we booked White Glove.  However just be advised that no matter what they TELL you, they will always default back to the contract verbiage which says you will receive delivery “within 7 days of your FIRST requested date”.   Don’t believe what they tell you on the phone because the contract is what they go by.

*In regard to our pick up date (8/10) we were told we would receive a call before, and we never did.

*On our pick up day (8/10) we requested they show up first thing in the morning (which Arnoff always did, and most movers do).  We needed to do a walk through with our property owner by 5pm once our home was empty.  White Glove did not show up to begin our move until 12noon.

*Even better…they showed up with only 2 guys to move our 3-story townhouse.  Any reputable company would have hired more help, and if guys were a “no show”, find someone in the area to come help, even if it is contract labor.

*My husband and I ended up helping bring things down the stairs and helping with the move.

*Since it was only 2 guys (and they were not the fastest moving) we were 2 hours late doing our walk through with our property manager. Our furniture was on the sidewalk while they continued to load up the truck at 7pm at night.  Sound like a stressful move?  It gets better…

*At one point, the driver tried to tell us that the cost of our move would increase because we had more than they thought.  Once we questioned the driver and threatened to call the office, the driver quickly stated we would not need to worry about additional fees.  Seriously??

*In addition, we read through other reviews where customers complained that the driver/mover was not a White Glove employee, and we can say without uncertainty that this is the case. Our driver actually told us he was not a White Glove employee and worked with multiple companies.

*We were told we would receive periodic calls from dispatch to update us on when our delivery would come.  We never received any update calls.  When 8/14 came and went, and we had not heard anything, I called them.  I was than told that the truck would deliver our things on either the 19th or 20th latest.   We were very upset by this as it was implied upon booking that it would be a quick turnaround time just going from GA to FL.  I was assured they would do everything possible to deliver our things sooner, that the 19th or 20th was “AT THE LATEST”.

*When the 19th came, we were told that our delivery was again DELAYED, and we would now receive delivery on the 21st.   This was actually the 7th day of our “window”.   To anyone still reading this I will spare you the stress, inconvenience, and financial burden that this delay caused our family.

*And last but not least, many of our belongings were damaged during the move.  During delivery the movers broke our desk…it was in pieces.   I basically was told that “anything wood was not covered” and I was basically stuck with a broken desk.  After the move, when we hooked up our big screen TV….it no longer worked.  All of our wardrobe boxes were collapsed from the way they were packed into the truck, so all of our neatly hung clothes in each box were just one big messy pile.  A wire shelve rack from our garage was also broken and a lot of our furniture has scratches on it.

I almost did not post this review as this moving experience took 10 years off my life and I didn’t want to even think about it again and have to write all of this down.  We just want to put this behind us and move on.   However, after much thought, I felt the need to post this review to share our story, and now I would just like to forget it and move on!

Two Part Long Distance Move.

Moving is no fun. Moving is very stressful. The people at White Glove made a rather complex move go smoothly and painlessly.  From my initial contact and numerous follow up calls and e-mails with questions, Mike, the Relocation Specialist articulately and promptly addressed each and every concern and question. Our move was a two part pick up from a storage facility in Pennsylvania and then midtown Manhattan.  As I inventoried both locations we needed to adjust the estimates as I either added or subtracted the number of items included in the move. It was all done very fairly and in the end White Glove was neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. I think what sold me on White Glove more than anything was the relationship and comfort level we established with Mike during the decision process. He knows his stuff, is articulate and friendly to work with.Day of pickup #1 in Pennsylvania was a hot, 90 degree day from a large steel storage unit. The guys drove out from New jersey and I had to meet them there, planned arrival time between 10 and 11am. They arrived at 10am sharp. I was already impressed. The crew worked professionally and efficiently through the heat. Each item was inventoried as it was wrapped up and loaded onto the truck. The storage facility at the end of the day looked like we'd never been there.Next pickup several days later in midtown Manhattan just blocks from the Lincoln Tunnel entrance. Planned arrival: 9 - 10am. What could possibly go wrong during NYC rush hour? NOTHING! 8:59am there's a knock at the door and they are here. Are you kidding me? You can't even get a pizza delivered in NYC so punctually! Several days later, right on schedule of course, all of our stuff arrived 1600 miles away in Key West, Florida. Needless to say, it's hot in Key West in June. Ali and his crew went right to work very efficiently and with both a friendly manner and sense of humor. Every single item on the inventory list arrived intact. There were items such as stemmed wine glasses that when packed I was thinking that no way will these make it one piece. Everything made it, not one broken item!!These guys are the real pros in the business. I couldn't recommend them highly enough. They are the BEST!

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

White Glove.

White Glove Moving did an amazing job with my move from Miami to Staten Island, so I felt like I should share my experience to help others in their search to find a good mover. There are so many companies out there that it’s hard to know who is telling you the truth about your quote and the service that you will receive, but my experience was that White Glove delivered on their promises and was up front and honest about all of the charges for the move.

From the start, I felt very at ease with the sales staff. Courtney, my representative, was very helpful and knowledgeable about the possible snags that could occur during the move. She helped me to build a very thorough inventory list for my move, which I learned is important for White Glove since their pricing is based on the list of items.  I was really impressed by this, since most other companies were giving their quotes based on the possible weight of my shipment, and then telling me that I would have to pay more if they were off on their calculations.

Once Courtney and I figured out the list of what furniture was going, she even helped me estimate the number of boxes, which was nice because I apparently was way off on my idea of how many boxes I would have – I guessed 20 and he suggested 50 based on the size of my home (2 bedroom apartment) and he was 100% right about that. When I finished packing, sure enough I had just under 50 boxes (49 to be exact).  She also offered suggestions on how to pack things and reminded me of things that movers cannot transport (gas tank for my grill, cleaning supplies and so on) so that I would be fully prepared for pickup.

The price that Courtney gave me included the physical aspect of the move (pickup, transportation and delivery, the basics) but also included the materials they needed for the minimal packing to be performed by White Glove. I needed them to pack just the beds and televisions, and also to reinforce some glass panes in the doors of my china cabinet. I never knew that most companies do not include the physical materials in their quotes so that they can give you a lower price to lure you in, then they make you pay for materials (on top of what you thought was your “final” price) on the pickup day.  White Glove clearly shows that they want to be up front with customers about what they will be paying for the move so that there are no unpleasant surprises.

With the price agreed upon and dates in place, I was nervous about when the other shoe would drop. But I never received any phone calls saying they needed to reschedule, or that they would be late, or that I needed to pay extra for something. My pickup window was just 2 days (not bad considering some other places wanted up to a 10 day window to pick up!) and I did get a call the day before the pickup so that I could make sure I was home and totally ready. The loading went very smoothly, the guys took care of my things and I was really pleased with how they packed the few items I had arranged for them to take care of. Especially the TV, which I would have had no idea how to pack on my own.

Once my things were out of the house, I again expected to get phone calls saying my shipment was delayed but it never happened. My delivery window was 7 business days and they arrived on the 5thbusiness day, which was great for me! I was ready to wait the full amount of time but I was pleasantly surprised. The unloading went just as smoothly as the loading, and the crew even offered to put together my bed frames after they finished distributing the furniture to the appropriate rooms. I did check all the furniture and nothing was damaged, nor were any of the boxes crushed or ripped. Everything was in the same condition it was in when it was put on the truck in Florida!

Overall I am very very pleased with the whole experience. I had enough stress getting everything else taken care of, so it was nice to have the physical part of my move done by consummate professionals. If you are moving long distance, give them a call, you won’t regret it.

Long-distance move from Florida to New York

Great Move.

I have to start off by saying, White Glove did as good a job as any mover I have ever used.  I just  moved my apartment from Boca Raton, FL to West 81st Street in Manhattan.  Julian and his crew arrived at my home in Boca and began packing immediately.  They were friendly and courteous to my entire family.  It took them the entire day to finish packing my furniture and the truck, but they worked tirelessly until it was done.  5 days later, White Glove’s delivery crew arrived at my building in the city and were finished by early afternoon.  The movers did a great job all around.  I only had one piece of furniture (desk) that was nicked, nothing broken though.  I contacted their claims department and sent them an estimate to repair the desk, and I was immediately reimbursed for the $65 it cost to repair the desk.  I had purchased additional insurance on the move, but did not need it.  I’ve moved many times in the past, and this ranks up there as one of the easiest I have ever done. Highly recommend.

Second Move.

After having executed 1 move with White Glove, I had the need to move from 1 apartment to another in the same complex.  White Glove was very understanding about working me into the schedule on such short notice.  Also, I asked for the same team as last time becuase they were so good.  This second move was executed quickly and efficiently reducing the cost.  I would highly recommend White Glove Moving & Storage and would use them again for any future moves.

Long-distance move from New York to Florida

Moving from NY to Florida.

Dear Gaby, I wanted to take a minute to write to you both to tell you what a fantastic job your company did for me in moving my home.  This was my fifth cross country move but my first with White Glove, and boy do I wish I had known about you sooner.  My entire experience dealing with your company was nothing but pleasant and I honestly felt like I was treated the right way from my initial phone call until the movers delivered in Hollywood, Florida.  I contacted White Glove in April of 2013 and spoke with Michael, the sales manager, about getting a quote.  We spoke for a good hour about White Glove and how the entire moving process works.  We didn’t go over anything about cost at that time, but I came away from that conversation knowing I would use you guys if the price was reasonable.  Michael informed me that I needed to begin making a list of the items I was moving to ensure an accurate flat rate.  I spent the next 2 months preparing a list of what was going and what was staying, and called him in June to go over it.  He was very helpful and thorough, and he walked me through your different packing options which I found very convenient.  We settled on a flat rate using your silver package and he assured me the movers would be there on the morning of July 18, 2013.  The movers arrived as promised and were extraordinary.  They spent 6 hours at my home wrapping all of my furniture and breakables and I can’t stress enough how impressed I was with the time and care they put in to making sure this was done right.  As I had discussed with Michael, we were still building our new home in Florida so I needed about a month and a half of storage.  He had informed me this was no problem and that they always provide up to a month of storage free of charge to their customers.  Once our new home was finished, I called Jennifer in operations to tell her we were ready and she informed me our stuff would be on the next truck down to Florida.  5 days later, the truck arrived and Julian and his helpers were also fantastic.  They took direction from my husband and I about what items went where, and left only when we were satisfied.  They removed all of the blankets and boxes as well which saved us a lot of time.  I also want to personally thank Julie – I had called a few days before our delivery to find out my storage balance for the extra 16 days, and she was kind enough to waive the storage fees for the extra days.  I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I feel blessed to have found your company.  Regards, Denny S.

Long-distance move from Georgia to New Jersey

GA to NJ Review.

I used White Glove in July of this year to move my parents from their home in Duluth GA to an over 65 community in Southampton NJ.  My mother had a hip replacement and my father is unable to care for her on his own now, so we moved them up closer to my family so we can be there for them.  It was a very stressful situation.  I was recommended to them by a friend who had used them and had a good experience.  I myself have moved before and used Mayflower, so initially was going to use them, but my parents were nervous about having a stranger into their home for the estimate.  I spoke first with Mike.  He was professional and knowledgeable, and informed me that he needed an inventory list so they could know what they were moving.  It took a few days for my parents to make a list but once I had the list the process of getting a quote was simple.  I was a little skeptical of their “guaranteed price” but I had heard good things so I decided to give them a shot.  They arrived on the day they promised, and the driver Julian and his helpers Ernesto and Robert were truly amazing.  They spent an entire day wrapping everything and putting it in the truck.  When my parents had made their list of items, they forgot 2 end tables from the living room and had a few extra boxes that we anticipated.  I spoke with Alex at their main office and I could tell he just wanted us to be happy.  They took the extra items and decided not to charge us for them, which was a relief.  Julian gave me his cell phone number and told me he should be in NJ within a few days but would keep in touch.  2 days later he arrived to my parent’s new home to begin moving them in.  I found what sets this company apart from some other reviews I have read is that they seem to honestly care that we were happy with the job they did.  They would not leave until Alex at the main office spoke with my parents and knew that everything was fine and they were happy.  Everything that I expected from this company was fulfilled and I would definitely feel comfortable recommending them to a friend or family member.  The only negative with my entire experience was that a crystal vase that my mother has owned for a long time broke.  At first we were just going to let it go as a casualty of the move, but Margaret from customer service followed up with my parents after the move and they mentioned it to her.  Much to their delight they received a $100 check in the mail to replace the vase.  They aren’t going to find a new one to replace it since it’s old, but the effort was appreciated.  Other than that, I have no complaints and had a very positive experience with White Glove.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Florida

Outstanding!

From contacting the company to the final delivery this was the BEST MOVING EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD! We moved many times - always with the usual "big boys." There was not a time when I was not completely satisfied.
So, this time I chose White Glove Moving Service. I could not have chosen better! The initial local crew was terrific! They packed my things and handled everything very professionally. They were efficient, courteous, pleasant, infomative, and very well organized.
On the delivery end, the long distance team was equally terrific! The items that they needed to unpack they did so perfectly. When I thought that there might be a piece missing, they did their very best to trace that piece and they found it right in one of the boxes that they had delivered!
Not a piece was damaged. Not a piece was lost.
I would highly recommend White Glove Moving Services to anyone without question.
Thank you White glove for a really superb job!

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Texas

Long distance moving.

No way we can recommend them. Great sales and customer service until packing and loading, then no communicaiton or follow up. Rushed the packing job. Trailer was 14 days in transit without any notification according to the contract. They used day labors during unloading who stopped working after 2 hours. We had to help reload the truck. White Glove is not a good long distance moving company, they promised to send a full crew to destination, but only a driver and one helper. Do not use. Price included clock assembly but left without the clock put toghter.

Long-distance move from New Jersey to Tennessee

Incredible.

I had a huge move from NJ to TN. White Glove was incredible every step of the way. Their quote was right on, no surprises. Their packers were very careful, and at the same time, very kind and listened to all of my needs. Their movers on the pick up and delivery( which were right on time) were hard working, careful, considerate. Their unpackers were perfect. Nothing broken. I very rarely leave reviews, but for White Glove, I had to. Also, everyone I spoke with at the main office, and the dispatchers, were nice, professional, and caring.
Moving can be so stressful, but White Glove helped make it a much more pleasurable experience. Thank you White Glove.
